The Iowa womens basketball team has not lived upo to pre-season expectations to this point but coach Lisa Bluder says her team has not pushed the panic button. The Hawks are 2-2 in the Big Ten and 10-7 over as they prepare for Sunday’s visit to Purdue.

“I don’t think our team is in that kind of mode, we’re just trying to get better, we’re trying to focus on the next game at hand,” Bluder says. She says they had their chances in the last game, but lost and they have to move on.

The Hawkeyes have not played since last Sunday’s loss to nationally ranked Nebraska and Bluder says they have used the extra days to work on situationsd that will help them in close games. “This is a good time of year to do that because you have the bye and so you can work on some special situations that maybe you don’t have time to do when you are working on the next opponent,” Bluder says.

Purdue is 3-0 in the league race heading into tonight’s game at Minnesota. Bluder says it is tough as they are very successful on their home floor and they are off to a good start this year.
