A Storm Lake man is jailed for allegedly drugging a woman to end her pregnancy. According to police, 31-year-old Yoirlan Tome-Rojas was arrested early Thursday morning and charged with conspiracy to commit non-consensual termination of an unborn child, a class C felony, third-degree sexual assault, a class C felony, and assault, a simple misdemeanor.

Police say Wednesday night, the victim reported she talked with the suspect, who allegedly assaulted her. She told police after it was determined she was pregnant last November, Rojas allegedly secretly inserted a chemical into her that caused the termination of the pregnancy.

Following a search of Rojas’ residence and other investigation, police arrested him early Thursday morning. Police say the investigation is on-going and additional charges are possible. The Cherokee and Tampa, Florida, police departments have assisted with the investigation.
