Winnebago Industries has  announced the retirement of its chairman of the board. A company news release says Bob Olson will retire effective February 24th.

The 43-year company veteran and former president and Chief Executive Officer of Winnebago Industries plans to remain a member of the board of directors and also continue to serve in his role on the executive committee of the Recreation Vehicle Industry Association and as co-chair of the Go-RVing Coalition.

Olson says he’s looking forward to traveling more with his wife in their Winnebago Journey motor home as they experience the “RV lifestyle” he has promoted during his time with the company. Current president and C.E.O. Randy Potts will assume the role of Chairman of the Board in accordance with the company’s succession plans.

Potts credits Olson with leading the company through some of its most challenging times, and says he feels fortunate to have ready access to Olson’s expertise in his continued role as a member of the board of directors.
