The latest guide to Iowa’s top tourist spots is now available. The 2012 Iowa Travel Guide is available for order by phone, on-line or at any Iowa Welcome Center.
Iowa Tourism Office spokesperson Jessica O’Riley says the cover photo was selected by fans of the Iowa Tourism Office’s Facebook page.
“We gave our fans three covers to choose from, more than 10,000 votes were cast, and the one that made the winning cover was the High Trestle Trail near Madrid,” O’Riley said. The free guide features 184 pages of photos and information.
O’Riley said there are listings from more than 700 attractions, 750 hotels, 220 bed and breakfasts and 350 campgrounds. The guide is slightly bigger than last year with more than 50 new listings.
Some of the new attractions in the guide include the Grand Falls Casino in Larchwood, the Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City and Sky Tours at YMCA Union Park Camp in Dubuque.
