Iowa State canned 10 three pointers last night in Hilton Coliseum but the final one was the biggest of all. Scott Christopherson banked in a three for the game winner at the buzzer for a 71-68 victory over Oklahoma State.

It came just seconds after Tyrus McGee tied the game with a three pointer. Christopherson finished with 17 points. Christopherson says he’s proud of the team and grateful that his coach had the confidence in him at the end.

Christopherson says it was not a great performance but it was a much needed win. “We didn’t play as well as we would have liked probably, and we banked a shot in at the end, but there’s no asterisk on this win, they all count the same,” Christopherson said.

Iowa State trailed by six point late in the game before rallying to improve to 3-2 in the Big 12. Iowa State coach Fred Hoiberg said finding a way to win games like this was “huge.”
