A Waterloo woman has been arrested for allegedly stabbing a man in the face with a meat fork. Waterloo police were called out late Thursday evening to a residence on West Fourth Street on the report of a stabbing.

When they arrive, offices found 49-year-old Wesley Polk of Waterloo standing in an alley. He had been stabbed in the right eye and cheek. Polk told police that he got into an argument with 57-year-old Darlene Oden in her apartment and she stabbed him in the face with a two-pronged cooking fork.

Polk was taken to a local hospital and then transferred to University Hospitals in Iowa City. Oden was arrested and charged with willful injury and going armed with intent.
