The Polk County Sheriff’s Department has arrested a 16- year-old male student in connection with a bomb threat at North Polk High School in Alleman. The student was charged with first-degree harassment and making threats following the discovery of a threatening note in a bathroom.

The note was given to school administrators and the school resource officer at approximately 12:30 Tuesday. The sheriff’s department said the note indicated that an explosive device was present somewhere in the high school. No device was found.

The unidentified teen was taken to the Polk County Juvenile Detention Center.
