The UNI football team will spend the final week of spring practice focusing on fundamentals. The Panthers host their annual spring game on Friday night. “The last two days will be strictly for the fundamental skills,” Farley explains. He says it will be like the first day of practice again as they end the last day with the basics.

Farley says there’s a reason they’ll go back to basics right before letting the players loose for the summer. “We need to put the time into the drills they should be doing all summer,” he says.

After Friday, UNI’s coaches cannot supervise any player workouts until the Panthers come back for fall camp, so Farley says that getting the players educated on their strength and conditioning programs is key. “What we can do in the weight room is where the work is going to be done,” Farley says. And he says that’s another reason they go back to the basics so the players know what to work on throughout the summer.

Farley estimates that about 80% of UNI’s players will stay on campus over the summer. UNI’s spring game will be held at the UNI-Dome Friday night at 6:30.
