It was a deadly weekend for two-wheelers on Iowa’s roads as three separate accidents claimed three lives. Saturday afternoon, a motorcycle and a car collided in Linn County, killing the motorcyclist, 49-year-old Linda Carlson of Hiawatha.

Passing vehicles collided with two bicyclists in separate incidents on Saturday night. In Iowa County, the state patrol says 47-year-old cyclist James Budde of Monona was killed when a truck collided with his bike. No charges were filed. In Dallas County, the sheriff’s office says 67-year-old cyclist Edward Giedraitis of Dallas Center was killed sometime that same night.

His body was found Sunday along the road. Just last week, Rides of Silence were held in several Iowa cities, remembering bicyclists who’ve died on the state’s byways and urging motorists to share the road.
