A federal jury has convicted a Mason City man for sexually abusing two boys. Thirty-one-year-old Michael Goodale was convicted on Thursday in U.S. District Court.

Goodale was indicted in March on two counts of aggravated sexual abuse, two counts of interstate transportation of a minor with the intent to engage in criminal sexual activity and one count of accessing child pornography. The sexual abuse charges were the result of the alleged sexual abuse of two boys under the age of 12 between 2008 and 2011.

Goodale originally faced eight counts of third-degree sexual abuse and five counts of second-degree sexual abuse in Cerro Gordo County District Court after alleged activity with victims under the age of 8. Those charges were dismissed due to the federal indictment.
