Investigators believe they have identified the person responsible for a drive-by shooting at the Ankeny police station earlier this year.

The Ankeny Police Department building was hit by bullets, causing damage to windows, during the early morning hours of April 28.

No one was injured. The vehicle involved in the drive-by was captured on surveillance video and now police have identified the suspected driver and gunman as 20-year-old Quincy Martin of Ankeny.

Police say they located a handgun Martin had in his possession at the time of the shooting and a shell casing found at the scene matched the gun. Martin is already in the Polk County Jail on unrelated charges of domestic abuse and child endangerment.

He’s now facing additional charges of terrorism, fourth-degree criminal mischief and discharge of a firearm within the city limits.
