The mother of one of the two Evansdale cousins missing for over a month has been hospitalized. Police say 34-year-old Misty Morrissey was taken to a Waterloo hospital Monday around 6:35 p.m. after she was found unresponsive at a relative’s home.

Morrissey is the mother of 10-year-old Lyric Cook-Morrissey, who was last seen on July 13th with her 9-year-old cousin, Elizabeth Collins. Officers were told she had been at the hospital earlier in the day and was under heavy medication, and later, drank alcohol.

Morrissey was not listed as a patient at the hospital today.
