After a career that has included nine national championships and twenty consecutive Iowa Conference crowns, Wartburg wrestling coach Jim Miller is giving it one more shot. Miller announced today that he will step down as head coach following the upcoming season.

“I’ve been thinking about this for awhile, sometimes in life you just know,” Miller said.

Co-Head Coach Eric Keller, a 10 year veteran of Miller’s staff, will take over as head coach next year, and Miller said that making the decision to step down was that much easier with Keller already in the fold.

Miller will continue to work at Wartburg in a yet-to-be-determined role. He says he wanted to get today’s announcement out of the way before the Knights begin their quest for a 10th national title.

In twenty-one seasons at Wartburg, Miller has won just shy of 400 dual meets against only 34 losses. In addition, every one of his athletes has earned a degree from Wartburg.
