Minnesota is 4-0 for the first time since 2008 as the Gophers get ready to visit Iowa in their Big Ten opener. Improvement on dense has been a big part of their success. After giving up more than 27 points per game in non conference play a year ago the Gophers are yielding less than 17 per contest.

Minnesota coach Jerry Kill says it changes each week as you go from a spread formation team to one that will run the ball down your throat. He says they will find out how good they are this week against the Iowa attack.

The Gophers are looking for their second straight win in the series and their first victory in Kinnick Stadium since 1999. He says it’s a rival game and that means both teams will be playing hard.

After winning a total of three games last year Kill is happy with their 4-0 start and is not sure when they will fit in the Big Ten race.
