Formal charges have been filed against a Cresco man who set off a manhunt in northeast Iowa Tuesday which forced the lockdown of buildings in three school districts. The Winneshiek County Attorney’s Office says 23-year-old Daniel Wildman has been charge with three counts of attempted murder, intimidation with a dangerous weapon and possession of a firearm by a felon.

The criminal complaint says Wildman left Ossian Tuesday morning, went to a house in Calmar and fired shots from a 12-gauge shotgun towards three men. Three school districts locked down their buildings while the search was on for Wildman.

He is being held in the Winneshiek County jail.
