Authorities have identified two men who were killed in a boating accident on the Mississippi River near Muscatine. The boat hit a buoy in the river between Iowa and Illinois early Saturday shortly after a group of duck hunters left the Shady Creek boat launch north of Fairport, Iowa.

The accident killed two men in the boat and injured five others. The Rock Island County Coroner has identified the men who died as 50-year-old David Slater of Davenport and 42-year-old Thomas Trainer of Canton, Illinois.

The names of the five other men have not been released. Four of them were airlifted to University Hospitals in Iowa City and were listed in serious condition late Saturday.
