A northeast Iowa man is facing several charges after an early-morning high-speed chase in Fayette County Monday. Shortly after 12 a.m., a Fayette County Deputy tried to pull over a pickup for speeding on Highway 150 just south of Fayette.

The driver sped up with the pursuit reaching speeds of 100 miles-an-hour. The suspect also tried to get away by crossing through corn and soybean fields. He finally jumped out of the pickup while it was still moving in a cornfield and fled on foot.

The man, identified as 20-year-old Brayton Boyer of St. Lucas, was caught after a short foot chase. Boyer was charged with felony eluding, OWI first offense, speeding and possession of alcohol under the legal age.
