Coe hosts Wartburg in a key Iowa Conference matchup on Saturday. At 3-1, Wartburg is tied for second with Simpson while Coe is 4-0. With a victory on Saturday the Kohawks would need to win only one of their final two games to earn a share of the title. It matches two teams that have done a good job of running the ball and stopping the run.

Wartburg coach Rick Willis who says the Coe defense does a good job of putting teams in third and long and it should be a good matchup to see which team can run the ball and which team can stop the run.

Coe coach Steve Staker says a game like this has typically been decided by mistakes and special teams. He says the other little things like penalties will probably also make a difference.

Staker says Wartburg will be the toughest matchtup this season for their defense as they have played well up to now and will “have to get after it on defense and try to stop the run.”
