The Iowa State cyclones will be on the road in the Big 12 to take on Texas. The Cyclones are 5-4 and need another win to become bowl eligible. After dropping consecutive games to West Virginia and Oklahoma the Longhorns have won three straight and ISU coach Paul Rhoads says the cause a number of concerns.

He says they do a nice job with their tempo and formations and do a good job of getting you out of position to make plays. Roads says the Texas defense is playing much better than just a few weeks ago as they get more confident and aggressive in their attack.

Rhoads says in a conference with so many outstanding quarterbacks the Longhorn’s David Ash is often overlooked. “He’s led them to 7 victories, that’s a lot of victories through 9 games,” Rhoads says.

The Iowa Hawkeyes will try to snap a three game losing streak when they host Purdue. The Boilermakers are having their own struggles. They have dropped five straight and are winless in the Big Ten though one of those losses was in overtime at unbeaten Ohio State.

Iowa coach Kirk Ferentz says the Boilermakers played very well in that game and had a chance to win, but Ohio State was able to hold them off. The Hawkeyes had trouble running the ball last week against Indiana’s defensive line and this will be another tough test.

Iowa’s defense has been shredded the last three weeks but Ferentz says Purdue has a different style that has a little different tempo.

Iowa is 4-5. Purdue is 3-6.
