The U.N.I. basketball team will take a big step up in competition when they play their second game of the season tonight. The Panthers set a McLeod Center record with 103 points in their season opening win over Wartburg on Saturday, but coach Ben Jacobson says they’ll see a much more talented team when Toledo visits the Panthers this evening.

Jacobson says the Rockets have a lot of key pieces back from a postseason team last year. He says Toledo has 8 of their 9 players back from the team that won 19 games last year and played in a postseason tournament.

Jacobson says he’s still looking for a higher activity level from his team on both ends of the floor as they stood around a little bit too much defensively. According to Jacobson, the Panthers have the potential to be a very good defensive team.

He says they still make some mistakes on things they have practiced and worked on, and need to continue working on that.

Tonight’s U.N.I.-Toledo match-up is set for a 7:00 tipoff at the McLeod Center tonight.
