Roy Devyn Marble scored 22 points as the Iowa Hawkeyes rolled to an 86-36 victory over Howard in college basketball action. The Hawks improve to 3-0. Marble says he wanted to be aggressive in the first half and his teammates were finding him for shots.

Aaron White added 16 points for the Hawkeyes. Marble says he has been working to become a better defensive player and says he is in much better shape than last year and that is the key. He says he is able to play more minutes at a high level.

It is still early but coach Fran McCaffery likes what he is seeing from his team. “Obviously we are better defensively and that was one thing we had to find out, partly because we’ve got fresh bodies out there, but we are putting better ball pressure on at the point of attack, we’re rebounding well, we’re sharing the basketball…so, a lot of things to like,” McCaffery.

Iowa hosts Gardner-Webb on Saturday night.
