Thanksgiving means a day of food and family. Many Iowa restaurants and shelters will be offering free meals Thursday. Among them, an eatery in Webster City called “Whoop-Ti-Doos” will be dishing up turkey, stuffing and all the fixings for several hundred people.

Joy Fopma is the restaurant’s owner.”We are going to be serving a traditional Thanksgiving meal from 11 to 2 and we’ll also be making home deliveries to people who can’t get out.”

Fopma says she’s planning to feed around 500 people throughout the busy day. “We have a lot of deliveries lined up already,” she says. “We’re well over the 100-mark on that so we’re expecting about that number, 500, but we just always know that God will provide the people and God will provide the food and whatever happens, happens.”

This is the fifth year the Webster City restaurant has sponsored the free meal on Thanksgiving Day to area residents.
