A Mason City man is under arrest after allegedly leading authorities on a high-speed chase through Clear Lake and Mason City late last night. Forty-three-year-old Travis Bailey is accused of taking off after an officer attempted to stop him for a traffic violation in the rural northern portion of Mason City.

The pursuit continued through the northern portion of the county, into the Clear Lake city limits and then back into Mason City. Authorities say Bailey’s vehicle traveled at speeds up to 92 miles per hour during the chase. Bailey was finally stopped about a half hour later by two squad cars on Mason City’s south side, with both squad cars receiving damage.

Among the charges Bailey faces are felony eluding, second-offense OWI, open container, meth and drug paraphernalia possession, driving while revoked and other various traffic violations.
