Freshman Georges Niang scored 15 points and grabbed six rebounds as the Iowa State Cyclones rolled to a 93-65 win over Nebraska-Omaha Sunday night in Hilton Colesium. ISU coach Fred Hoiberg says his team excelled in both of the areas of the game he emphasized, eliminating turnovers and rebounding.

Hoiber says they did not shoot the ball well, but when you don’t turn the ball over and rebound and get extra shots, you are still able to score points. Will Clyburn added 11 points as Iowa State improves to 7-3 on the season.

Senior point guard Korie Lucious says the Cyclones did a good job of putting Friday’s loss to Iowa behind them. He says they had a lot of defensive and rebounding lapses in the Iowa game as they did not execute very well, but came back and were more focused in this game.

Lucious says the Cyclones played with good energy and moved the ball well, even though they didn’t shoot the ball well.
