The Iowan who just recently inherited the title of world’s oldest living person has died. Dina Manfredini was 115 years old. According to a statement from the Bishop Drumm Retirement Center in Johnston, Manfredini passed away “peacefully” early this morning.

Guinness World Records reported Manfredini became the world’s oldest living person after the December 4 death of a Georgia woman who was 116.

Dina Manfredini was born on April 4, 1897 in northern Italy. She moved to Des Moines in 1920 with her husband, Riccardo. The couple had four children. Riccardo died in 1965 at the age of 79.

According to Guinness World Records, the title of the world’s oldest living person now belongs to a Japanese man, who is just 15 days younger than Manfredini.
