Three people were killed and two others injured in a one vehicle crash early Sunday morning in Sioux City. Police say the vehicle blew through a stop sign, went through a resident’s yard near 35th Street and Grandview Boulevard and flipped into Perry Creek. It happened around 3 a.m.

The car landed on its roof and became partially submerged in the icy creek. Three occupants were trapped inside and could not escape. They were later pronounced dead at local hospitals. Two other passengers were discovered outside the car on the creek bank. They were taken to St. Luke’s Hospital.

The names of the victims and the conditions of the survivors have not been released. The accident remains under investigation by Sioux City Police.
