More heartbreak on the road for Iowa State. Ioannis Papapetrou hit a three pointer to send the game to overtime and Texas won it in double overtime 89-86 in Austin.

Melvin Ejim says there was some miscommunication on the last play, and now they have to move on. Ejim had 20 points and a career high 16 rebounds for the Cyclones who once again failed to close out a big road win.

Tyrus McGee led ISU with 21 points as they fall to 6-5 in the Big 12. “I’m literally sick to my stomach, it hurts, we’ve had three of these now,” coach Fred Hoiberg said. Hoiberg says it was a disappointed lockeroom after the game.

“It’s hard, days like this are tough to handle,” McGee says. Iowa State is 16-8 overall and hosts TCU on Saturday.
