A company that specializes in information technology services plans to expand into Marshalltown. Caleris C.E.O., Sheldon Ohringer says they will hire 100 workers.

“We’re really happy that we are able to expand into Marshalltown, that will be our fourth center on top of our current three. This is expansion for current and future clients and we expect to start hiring as early as next week,” Ohringer says. He says some of the jobs simply require a high school diploma, while others require a college degree.

“We have a broad range of types of positions, kind of an entry-level position would be in the 11-dollar range to start, and then there’s raises after 90 days and after six months,” Ohringer. “…They’ll be lead positions, they’ll be a little higher, supervisor positions that’ll be higher, we’ll have an I-T person on site, that’ll be higher.”

Ohringer says they expect a good response from people interested in the jobs. “Over the last nine years we’ve grown from 25 employees to a little over 325 employees…and certainly when we first went to Jefferson, Iowa seven years ago we grew there from zero to 90, we got a great response,” Ohringer says.

“We were the first new company to come into Newton after Maytag close and we had obviously tremendous support there of job applicants.” He says the company is seeking English and bilingual English-Spanish speaking agents as well.

He says Caleris serves clients in varying industries, ranging from consumer electronics manufacturers to insurance companies.
