Des Moines police have found a girl who has been missing for over two weeks. Police say 12-year-old Karina Rodriquez-Resendiz went missing sometime after her mother drove her to school on February eighth.

Police believed the girl was with 18-year-old Sergio Lopez who had a no contact order against him, and was wanted for failing to appear in court on a sexual abuse charge. Officials believed the two had left the state and sought help in locating them. Police got a tip Sunday that the two were still in Des Moines.

Lopez was arrested and now faces an additional charge for violating the no-contact order. The girl was turned over to juvenile authorities where she is being held on a an unrelated charge.
