Three business are planning to build or expand in Clinton and city leaders have given a tentative okay to a series of incentives. The Germany-based Rail-One firm announced its first U.S. plant in Clinton for the production of concrete railroad ties.

The $20-million capital investment will create 60 jobs. The plant would be located in a new industrial park along the Union Pacific rail line.

A related firm, Nevada Railroad Material, based in Utah, works in connection with Rail-One and is not seeking breaks at this time. Thirty jobs would be created in the plant to recycle old wooden railroad ties.

Data Dimensions also announced relocating its Clinton operations into a larger facility and add 130 jobs, which doubles its employment in the date management firm. That firm would make a capital investment of just over six-million dollars.

The council approved the resolution to support the Data Dimension incentives including tax breaks and support for state incentives.
