A standoff in Sioux City that lasted most of the night has ended. Sioux City police officer, Chad Sheehan says they were called about a disturbance just after midnight. The man involved in the disturbance was said to be armed and left the scene and went to a relative’s house where officers tried for four or five hours to make contact with him.

“We attempted to make communication with him through the use of a bullhorn and that was unsuccessful, and then some windows were broken out so we could ensure that the suspect could hear us from the outside,” Sheehan explains. “At that time there was still no communication and officers as they entered the residence, there was some contact made with the resident and he was taken into custody.”

No shots were fired and no one was injured. The suspect is described as a male in his 20’s, but his name has not been released.
