State officials have announced two new voter fraud cases.

This week, authorities reveal a felon accused of illegally registering to vote in Marshall County for the 2012 election was arrested on March 5. Nickie Dean Perkins of Melbourne has been charged with two counts of election misconduct and one count of fraudulent practice in an election.

Another man, 64-year-old Jesus Adan Castorena of Hampton, is accused of falsely claiming to be a U.S. citizen to get a driver’s license in 2010 and trying to register to vote. Warrants were issued for Castorena’s arrest on March 15th, but he is not yet in custody.

Last week a judge in western Iowa dismissed voter fraud charges against two Canadians and a Mexican citizen.
