UNI coach Ben Jacobson says the Panthers will miss the four seniors from this year’s squad. Anthony James, Jake Koch, Austin Pehl and Marc Sonnen all had their careers come to an end with a 59-56 loss to Weber State on Saturday night in the semifinal round of the Collegeinsider.com tournament.
Jacobson says they are disappointed to not win and have another game to play, but says he’s proud of the game. The 36 games were the most ever played in a season by a Panther squad. They finish with a record of 21-15.
“Those guys have been terrific, and certainly want to thank them for everything they’ve done for our program. We’re going to miss those guys,” Jacobson says. He says he also looks forward to the players who will return and the new players coming into the program.
