Lottery officials are reminding players to double-check their tickets as a deadline is approaching for a big unclaimed prize in southeast Iowa. Iowa Lottery spokesperson Mary Neubauer says the ticket worth $100,000 was purchased for a drawing on March 25.

The unclaimed prize in Iowa’s $100,000 Cash Game is from a ticket bought at the Jet Stop South convenience store at 901 South St. in Burlington. The lucky matched all five numbers selected in the Cash Game drawing to win the game’s top prize. The winning numbers that night were: 8-12-25-26-33. The holder of the ticket has less than a month to claim the prize.

“The winner or winners have until the close of business at 4 p.m. on June 24 to claim this prize at a lottery office,” Neubauer said. Players have up to 90 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes in Iowa’s $100,000 Cash Game. During fiscal year 2012, more than $1.1 million in prizes expired without being claimed in Iowa lotto games.

“Here in Iowa, the prize money that’s left unclaimed after redemption deadlines goes into the lottery’s prize pools for future games and promotions,” Neubauer said. “So, it will be used to pay prizes, just not that particular prize that expired.”
