A top-ten softball matchup is on the docket tonight in North Central Conference play as the Iowa Falls-Alden Cadets travel to play Fort Dodge St. Edmond. Steve Bahr’s IF-A team is 8-3 and rated 8th in Class 3A. Iowa Falls-Alden has enjoyed a power surge of late, scoring 45 runs in their last three games.

A couple of players have five home runs and Bahr says they are hitting well throughout the lineup with some of the players at the bottom of the lineup hitting homers. Plenty of the success can also be credited to IF-A’s pair of pitchers.

Lindsay Barnhart is 5-3 so far in her final year as a Cadet, and sophomore Brittany Fisher is no longer just a prospect herself. Bahr says she is 3-0 and has helped them out in some tournaments so far this year, and he expects good things from her in the future.

Fort Dodge St. Edmond is on the schedule for tonight, as the Gaels bring in the #6 ranking in 2A. St. Edmond is 10-2, with a four-game winning streak on the line. One of their two losses came against Iowa Falls-Alden in a 5-4 final last Monday night.
