One man was killed, another injured, in a shooting in Waterloo last night. Two men were riding bicycles near a Kum & Go convenience store on Waterloo’s east side around 6:00 last night when witnesses say a man started shooting at them.

The names of the two individuals who were struck by the gunfire have not been released, but police say that a 30-year-old man was pronounced dead upon arrival at a local hospital. The other victim, a 19-year-old, was taken to a different hospital, but is expected to survive.

He suffered what police are calling “non-life threatening” injuries. Police are investigating the incident as a homicide, and say they have several leads, but they have not yet named any suspects.
