After turning around the baseball programs at UNI and Indiana State Rick Heller will try to do the same thing at the University of Iowa. Heller was named the Hawkeyes 20th coach, today, and will try to turn around a program that qualified for the Big Ten Tournament only three times in ten years under former coach Jack Dahm.

The Iowa native has been the head coach at Indiana State the past four years and led the Sycamores to the Missouri Valley Conference regular season title and the NCAA regionals in 2012. Prior to that he spent ten years as the head coach at UNI where he led the Panthers to a MVC title and a trip to the NCAA regionals.

Heller began his coaching career at Upper Iowa where he was named the Iowa Conference coach of the year four times. He will be introduced at a news conference on Monday afternoon.
