A convicted sex offender who lists his address as Creston, Iowa, and who had been deported to Mexico recently has been taken into custody near Lincoln, Nebraska. Terry Wagner, the sheriff in Lancaster County, Nebraska, credits one of his deputies for doing his homework after pulling a vehicle over along Interstate 80.
“During the course of that investigation (he) determined that the driver, Eduardo Medina of Creston, Iowa, was a convicted sex offender and was also found to be a deported felon by the Department of Homeland Security,” Wagner says.
The deputy pulled Medina over for following too closely behind another vehicle.
“Homeland Security took custody of Eduardo who had been deported to Mexico three weeks ago and took him into custody to face federal charges for his reentry into this country,” the sheriff says.
Medina was hired as a custodian for Creston schools in 2006, but was fired in May of last year after being accused of sexually abusing a former student.
