An Iowan is one of six new cast members to join TV’s long running sketch comedy show “Saturday Night Live.” Brooks Wheelan is a native of Dubuque. He was a wrestler at Dubuque Hempsted High School in the mid-2000’s. Wheelan started performing standup comedy around Iowa in his late teens before he eventually moved to Los Angeles.
Last year, the Comedy Central network included Wheelan on its list of “Top 10 Artists to Watch.” The 39th season of “Saturday Night Live” begins September 28th on NBC.
