Autopsy results show a woman found in a Taylor County cornfield in August died of a drug overdose. Thirty-one-year-old Maggie Weaver was found in the field outside of Lenox on August 3rd.

Weaver had last been seen on July 31st at 10:30 in the evening as she waited for a ride from a friend at an area residence. The friend showed up and could not find Weaver and her body was eventually found by friends in the cornfield.

The State Medical Examiner has ruled her death was due to an “accidental overdose caused by acute methamphetamine intoxication.” The report says there were no indications of foul play in Weaver’s death and the investigation is now complete.
