Rated seventh in the latest NAIA poll St. Ambrose is on the road to play second rated St. Francis of Indiana in a Mid-States Football Association crossover game. The Fighting Bees opened last week with a victory over Taylor University and take on a St. Francis team that posted an impressive victory at William Penn.

St. Ambrose coach Mike Magistrelli says St. Francis is on of the top programs in the country at this level. He says they are very balanced and explosive offensively. Magistrelli says they use a 4 receiver set, but have a good running back and like to run the ball before passing.

A year ago St. Ambrose claimed a defensive battle against St. Francis but Magistrelli is not sure if the defenses will dominate on Saturday. “A couple years ago I thought it would be a real defensive battle and it ended up a 34-33 game,” Magistrelli says. He says they’ll be prepared for however the game develops.
