Two men involved in an eastern Iowa marijuana bust have been sentenced to federal prison. Twenty-nine-year-old Kenny Salguero and 20-year-old Kenneth Stepter pled guilty in June to conspiracy to deliver marijuana.

They admitted to working with others to distribute large quantities of “high grade” marijuana after police searched a Hiawatha residence and a Cedar Rapids warehouse in March of this year. Officers  seized 330 pounds of marijuana, four firearms and bundles of cash that totaled $37,000 in their search.

The warehouse was leased by Salguero and ledgers seized showed he had already earned $13,000 from one shipment of marijuana. The evidence showed that Stepter had encouraged a minor to help them distribute the marijuana. Salguero was sentenced to over 11 years in prison and Stepter was sentenced to seven years.

There is no parole in the federal system.
