Three people now face a variety of charges after a car theft was reported late Saturday afternoon in northwest Iowa. Authorities found the car early Saturday evening in Akron — with someone sitting inside.

As a result of the investigation, the sheriff’s office arrested 20-year-old Colt Johns of Hawarden. He’s been charged with possession of stolen property, possession of marijuana, possession of methamphetamine and child endangerment as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.

Also arrested was 24-year-old Travis Kidd of Akron. Kidd has been charged with possession of stolen property, child endangerment and possession of drug paraphernalia. Nineteen-year-old Lauren Goss of Le Mars is the third person arrested. She’s been charged with child endangerment. The parents of the two children were not home at the time and Kidd and Goss were supposed to be caring for them.
