A jury in Henry County is deliberating the fate of a southeast Iowa man, charged in the death of his pregnant wife. Seth Techel is accused of shooting his wife, Lisa, while she was sleeping in their rural Agency home in May of last year.

Prosecutors claim Techel was having an affair and wanted to avoid paying child support. Defense attorneys have accused an intruder, possibly a mentally ill neighbor who died last September from unknown causes. This is the second trial for Techel. The first trial, in Wapello County, ended in a hung jury back in March.
