The Northwestern College football team makes a second straight appearance in the NAIA playoffs on Saturday with a visit to seventh ranked Missouri Valley. The Red Raiders fell in the opening round last year to eventual national champion Marian and coach Kyl Achterhoff says they hope to make some noise this time around. He says it was special to get back into the playoffs last year after having some teams where they thought they should have gotten in.

Missouri Valley led the nation in total defense and gives up only 67 yards of rushing per game, and Achterhoff says they don’t get fancy with what they do.

Missouri Valley’s starting quarterback suffered a season ending injury last week but Achterhoff does not expect much change from their offense.
