The English Valleys high school football program is moving to the eight-man division following a decision by the district’s board of directors. The move comes after several weeks of deliberation according to English Valley’s football coach Bronson McCulley. He says they were good discussions and it all came down to the numbers.

McCulley says enrollment was one of the factors considered. English Valleys listed a 10th through 12th grade enrollment of 109 students for last school year. “It’s still football, you’ve still got to put the work in to be good at something, it’s still competition,” McCulley says.

McCulley says they approached the players about the possibility several weeks ago. “The kids really pushed for it, I think a lot of the kids are ok with it. They are excited about the change and are going to be putting the work in and having fun with it,” McCulley says.
