The Iowa basketball team is at home this evening to take on Fairleigh-Dickinson. The Hawkeyes are 9-1 after an 83-66 win over Drake. Iowa coach Fran McCaffery says they’ve had a tough stretch with the tournament and then coming back to play Drake, but he says their depth has helped them come out with just one loss.

McCaffery says the play of Gabe Olaseni and Jarod Uthoff off the bench is a big part of their depth. “They both have been really consistent, I think that’s a key factor. They’re putting up numbers,” the coach says. He says Olaseni is scoring better than he has in the past and is confident and also blocking shots. While he says Utoff is doing the things he thought he would do, including coming off the bench to give them a three point shooter.

Fairleigh-Dickinson is 3-8.
