The 9th ranked Iowa State Cyclones put their unbeaten record on the line Tuesday night when they host 7th rated Baylor. The Cyclones are 13-0 after opening Big 12 play with a win at Texas Tech and coach Fred Hoiberg says balance has been a big part of their 13-0 start. He says the unselfishness of the team is the biggest thing, and they are taking much better care of the basketball.

Hoiberg says a pair of newcomers have made a huge impact: Senior guard DeAndre Kane and junior forward Dustin Hogue. He says Kane has played in a lot of big games and has been a good leader, while Hogue played at a successful junior college where he gained experience.

Hoiberg says the Cyclones are a much better defensive team because of Kane. “He’s one of those guys — you don’t see them very often — that can hurt you from the post, the midrange, and can knock down the three ball. There’s just not very many guys out there like that — plus he can defend,”Hoiberg says.

Baylor enters Tuesday’s game with a record of 12-1.
