The next court hearing has been set in the ongoing dispute over a new land-based casino in Sioux City. The hearing is scheduled in Polk County District Court for Thursday January 30th at 1 p.m.

The district court had ordered a stay on the awarding of a new license for the land-based casino after the operator of the riverboat casino it will replace sued. The case would not have been heard until December of next year until the Iowa Supreme Court stepped in and ordered that a hearing be held by February 15th.

Sioux City Entertainment is in the process of building a Hard Rock Casino in downtown Sioux City. Penn National Gaming. which operates the Argosy Belle riverboat, sued after losing out on the chance to build the new land-based casino.
