A Des Moines man is facing charges after leading police on a high speed chase with a woman and child in his vehicle. The chase started just before six last night. when a Des Moines Police officer spotted a motorist who was wanted on a felony arrest warrant. The driver sped off and the Iowa State Patrol took over the chase as the car headed north on Interstate 35.

The Patrol reports speeds reached 100 miles an hour before stop sticks, deployed by Story County Sheriff’s deputies, flattened a tire on the suspect’s car. The driver continued on the flat for four miles before pulling over near Ames. Thomas Lamont Davis is now facing multiple charges, including child endangerment. The woman and child in the vehicle were not injured.
